The restaurant Breg opened its doors in a location where the restaurant tradition dates back to the 16th century. It is intended for everyone who likes to socialize and at the same time indulge in a delicious feast. The menu is based on traditional dishes, to which top chef Jorg Zupan has added his own touch.

Restaurant Breg is located on a beautiful walking path Old Ljubljana namely in the premises of the building Shore 20, which boasts a rich historical value. There, the legendary Gostilna Vitez served traditional Slovenian dishes for the first time in 1574, and for a while it was owned by Andrej Smole, a friend of France Prešern. The chef continues the tradition now Jorg Zupan, the youngest recipient Michelin stars in Slovenia.

Zupan envisioned Breg as a place where good food can be enjoyed in a relaxed way. He undertook the project together with his business partner Matjaž Ivanec, with whom they already work successfully in the restaurant Studio. At the opening, which was attended by a large number of gourmets and famous faces, the talented chef said: "I want Breg to become popular. A meeting place where the company would enjoy a real feast during a loud debate, where the whole family would gather on Sundays over beef soup and roast beef, where friends would drink beer and eat cold cuts, where a couple would share a dessert with a glass of wine, where everyone felt welcome."

The dishes that you can pamper your taste buds with are based on traditional Slovenian delicacies. Zupan laughingly mentioned that he follows the principle of "greasy and delicious" in his creations. The ingredients he uses are largely sourced from Slovenian producers or them grow it yourself in your home garden.

You can indulge in appetizers on the summer menu dry aged beef tartare, which accompanies him onion butter with miso, Zupan's famous burrata with beetroot molasses and beef tongue "on shavor". Next, of course, are the main dishes, among which the chef included famous ones osso buco, carp kiev with butter puree and Viennese-style cutlets of dry-ripened Krško Polje. They are also available to you seafood dishes, homemade pasta, risotto, steamed buns and roasted vegetables. A delicious beginning is followed by a sweet ending. For dessert you can choose from tiramisu, "burnt" cottage cheese cake, to the affogato, millet porridge, strawberries with white chocolate and meringue and other delicacies. They are also a specialty of Brega Sunday lunches. At that time, you can expect large soups and a selection of excellent roasts on the tables.
