- 1 baguette
- olive oil
- salt
- 4-5 cloves of garlic
- 2-3 ripe tomatoes, cut into cubes
- oregano
- fresh basil leaves
- chopped pepperoni
Directions
- Heat the grill or baking pan to high temperature.
- Cut the bread into 1 centimeter thick slices and brush each side with olive oil.
- If desired, rub a clove of garlic on one side of each slice of bread.
- Bake the slices of bread on the grill or in a baking dish at 200 degrees for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the bread from the grill and place it on a serving plate.
- Mix diced tomatoes, pepperoni, chopped basil leaves, salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Spoon the tomato mixture over the top of the toasted bread slices.
- Serve immediately while the bread is still warm and crispy.
