Cruel but honest facts that show a different view of the society in which we live

As scientists, we believe that human nature is the reason for our behavior. And sometimes we humans make decisions that have nothing to do with our consciousness. We tend to take risks and do things that are the result of biological and social factors. Do you do any of these things?

We did the research six biological and social factors, which affect the human behavior. Some of the conclusions of these scientists may seem to you immoral and irrational, but explain, why we humans do certain things and what our society is really like.

Unpleasant people appear stronger in our eyes than they really are.

California Anthropologist Daniel MT Fessler and Colin Holbrook they believe they are our ancestors originally rated their enemies by size, because a big enemy is also a strong enemy. In order to prove this, they performed an experiment. The participants sat on the heavy chairs to which they were tied. The researchers then showed photos of aggressive men. Each participant had to evaluate how strong is his 'opponent'. It turns out that helpless participants believed they were their potential enemies much stronger than they really are, compared to the people who were tied up.

An unpleasant person can seem much more powerful to you, as it really is. That's why you prefer to avoid disputes because you feel that the risk is too high.

When we are in a bad mood, we believe in various prophecies.

Australian researcher Atrin Greenaway she performed an experiment, to prove that people believe in prophecies when we are in a bad mood. She divided the participants into three 3 groups. The first group had to relive the happiest moments of your life. The other group had to remember the most insignificant things from your life. The third group had to remember the most humiliating moment in life. All three groups then had to report on the prophecies they believe in.

They turned out to be moody people believed in many prophecies. The scientist thus proved that the people are much easier to influence when they are in a bad mood. Loss of control encourages us to we believe in predictions, and predictions establish control.

Money can make us happy.

Money can make us happy.
Money can make us happy.

Despite the fact that you will often hear that money can't buy happiness, that's not true. At least scientists claim that it is possible. Grant E. Donnelly found out research, which proves that possessions affect our happiness. But happiness doesn't come from winning the lottery or marrying a rich soulmate, but rather the one you have earned through your own work.

Money is said to bring happiness in two areas: freedom of choice and financial peace of mind.

People love to discuss different topics, but they often do not want to change their opinion even when they have evidence that it is wrong. Various studies have proven that people do not believe facts that are inconsistent with their beliefs. People are ready to ignore the evidence simply because that way they avoid conclusions they are not comfortable with.

People put others down because we have self-esteem issues.

Your desire to insult or humiliate another person, is related to your background. People, who humiliate and intimidate other people, they are not confident and try to show their worth by brute force. At the same time, they are sure that their negative attitude towards other people has nothing to do with their self-awareness. If you ever want to offend someone, ask yourself, or are you doing it because you want to boost your self-esteem.

Economist Gordon B. Dahl and Enrico Moretti performed research and discovered that it was the risk of divorce is lower if the couple only has sons. The two researchers write that it should be because of our biological instincts. Society has always believed that it is the value of a male partner defined by wealth, status and power, and the father must make sure that it is his too the son also inherited it.

This study was conducted 14 years ago, so the credibility of this theory is questionable in this day and age. The social roles of men and women changed in changed significantly recently.
