From May 10 to 21, Cerkno will be covered in the sounds and rhythms of jazz for the twenty-first time in a row. Namely, the 21st International Jazz Festival Cerkno (2016) will take place.
Let's go to Jazz Cerkno 2016? The main musical event of the Zavod Jazz Cerkno has been taking place in the middle of May since 1996. The venue of the festival is a square in the middle of Cerkno, specially covered for this occasion - "old place". In these evenings, this year from 19. to 21. May 2016, line up again every time diverse performers from around the world, both well-known and less well-known, who share the discovery of new directions in jazz and the expansion of musical horizons.
The festival is important as a comprehensive overview of current events in the field of jazz in the broadest sense of the word. The jazz that can be heard in Cerkno is never one-size-fits-all, as the organizers emphasize an unconventional program and creative music. Rock, electronica, new and old classical music, experimental music, various traditional bands and much more is hidden in the jazzy interweaving of the offer of the Jazz Cerkno festival.
