After a concept study for the Audi A6 Sportback almost a year ago, the company from Ingolstadt is revealing the veil of mystery of how the electric A6 Avant e-tron could look in the future also as a station wagon. Because with this conceptual study, the engineers didn't just let their imagination run wild. Moreover, they show an almost production model.
The dimensions of the nearly five-meter-long body are not the only thing that evokes feelings of prestige. According to the manufacturer, the two electric motors in the concept for the new Audi A6 Avant e-tron offer a torque of 800 newton meters and a total power of 350 kilowatts. This corresponds to 476 hp - for the base version. Depending on the chosen version of the drive and model, Audi for the Avant e-tron promises a range of up to 700 kilometers (according to the WLTP standard), but in reality, drivers will easily overcome 500 kilometers with it. A sprint from zero to 100 would be possible in less than four seconds, which is standard for electric cars in this price class.
As the heart of the A6 Avant e-tron drive technology – and all future PPE models – Audi celebrates not the engine, but the charging technology. "Thanks to the 800-volt system and charging capacity of up to 270 kW, it is possible to "top up" energy for a distance of around 300 kilometers at a fast charging station in just ten minutes," promises the manufacturer. Of course, all under the right conditions and with a real filling station, the likes of which hardly exist in Slovenia. But anyway. The point is that you will fill up the car for the trip home in just a few minutes. You will charge the rest at your home charging station.
If you want to reduce the waiting time with the car when you charge it, park directly in front of the wall and the digital LED headlights on the front can - at least in the imagination of the developers - throw video games on the wall in a large format. This is made possible by the new led light technology. But we believe that this is more than a "candy" of a concept car. The PPE (Premium Platform Electric) modular system is being developed with Porsche AG under the leadership of Audi. According to Audi, it also wants to attract buyers who are not interested in e-SUVs, but prefer more traditional models. It is not yet known when the new A6 Avant e-tron will be on the market. "The first production Audi A6 vehicles will be presented consecutively from 2023," they said at the presentation.
Since there is really a lack of practical electric caravans, many people are extremely happy about the rear, in which it will be possible to fit up to 600 liters of luggage and thus meet the needs of the family. We also have no doubt that you will be able to "tow" a caravan with this Audi. A – this is only speculation by the author.
