Renault Eolab – a moving hybrid laboratory of hundreds of innovations

Renault continues the offensive of ecological passenger vehicles, with the hybrid eolab, which presents a number of advanced innovations, thanks to which it boasts an average consumption of only 1.0 liters and 22 grams of CO2 emissions per km. This is ensured by the combination of an electric and gasoline engine, which enables driving on electricity up to 120 km/h and a distance of up to 60 km.

In order to achieve such economy, the designers worked in three areas at the same time: weight reduction, aerodynamics and the completely new ZE Hybrid technology, which enables a greener environmental footprint, as well as completely emission-free driving in the case of models such as the ZOE.

The vehicle can be recognized by its extremely dynamic and modern exterior, whose movable parts, such as active wings and side flaps, ensure record aerodynamics in the segment and thus lower air resistance. In addition, the designers also paid great attention to the "slimming diet", which is responsible for the 400 kg lower weight of the car, and the body materials are a combination of steel, aluminum and composite materials. The reduction in weight also led to a smaller engine, battery, wheels and brakes, which, in addition to lower costs, also means a lower price of the vehicle.

The technologies presented by ecolab will gradually be introduced into production vehicles as well. ZE Hybrid technologies combine gasoline-electric drive with gasoline-electric drive. This allows you to drive purely on electricity for distances of up to 60 km and up to a speed of 120 km/h, and in the coming years, the serial version of the ecolab model will find its place in the sales range alongside the electric ZOE.

There is also a lot of speculation regarding the final price, mainly due to the favorable price positioning of the ZOE model. Eolab should cost similar to this one, with the exception that it will not be necessary to pay extra for renting batteries, which cost 79 euros per month at ZOE.
