Royal Robbins sweater collection made from recycled oysters and bottles

In an ongoing search for innovative, sustainable solutions, Royal Robbins expands its use of Seawool® in the new Westlands Fall 2022 Women's Sweater Collection. SeaWool's recycled poly yarn is created from recycled oyster shells and plastic bottles, reducing waste on land and in the sea.

The blend of Seawool and merino wool provides many long-lasting benefits, including odor resistance, insulation and temperature regulation.

SeaWool Recycled Polyester is made from post-consumer plastic bottles and crushed oyster shells collected from oyster farms in Taiwan. Taiwan's oyster farming industry discards as much as 160,000 tons of shells each year. A partner fiber producer for Royal Robbins diverts seven tons of waste oyster shells annually to make this fiber. There is an average of used in each Westlands sweater 10 plastic bottles and one oyster shell.

A brand new model and style for fall 2022 is the sweater Westlands Fairisle Crew combines the best of traditional outdoor style with a comfortable, natural and efficient fabric. Classic Fair Isle patterns around the neck are perfect for winter activities, transitioning seamlessly from crisp days exploring to cozy nights on the town. Easy-care blend of merino wool and marine wool fabric is natural odor resistant and provides warmth without weight.

For fall 2022, the Seawool and merino blend is also featured in women's sweaters Westlands Relaxed Pullover, Westlands Cowl, Westlands Pullover and Westlands Funnel Neck sweaters. The Royal Robbins Westlands Sweater Collection will be available from early September 2022 in specialist retailers and online at royalrobbins.eu.
