Sony Crystal LED: a 20-foot monster of 16K resolution

Sony Crystal LED display

Crystal LED technology, which until now was intended for professional use, will now also be able to decorate a home wall, namely with the 20-meter Sony Crystal LED monster.

For several years, OLED TVs have reigned supreme among the displays of the most beautiful images, but that will now come to an end. Sony has announced that its screens will be equipped with technology Crystal LED also sold for home/business use. The screen is based on technology MicroLED and consists of smaller modules of lower resolution. When them 18 put together like a jigsaw puzzle, we get a resolution screen 1080p. We add to that 54 modules and we get the resolution screen 4K. When we gather enough together 576 modules, we are already at resolution 16K!

The beauty of such screens is that we can define ourselves how big we want and in what resolution. The subject is able to display HDR-content (140% sRGB coverage), refresh the image at 120 Hz and be extremely bright (via 1000 cd/m2). Compared to the OLED screen, the MicroLED is still more economical and resistant to image burn-in. The only problem is the size of the screens and of course the current price. Resolution screen 1080p would measure the bad ones diagonally 280 centimeters, for the resolution monster 16K but you would need at least 20 meters free wall. And also a very deep pocket, because the latter would cost us a fortune 5.2 million euros.
