In Slovenia, the first avalanche information boards have been erected in the Julian Alps. The number of visitors to the mountains in winter has grown dramatically in recent years. Many of them are quite brave and not just extreme athletes. Alpinists, hikers, snowshoers, touring skiers, freeriders go to the hills in winter, and families with small children are among them. But mountains are dangerous. Especially at a time when the hills are whitewashed and the danger of avalanches lurks on them. Too often we ignore this danger, saying that it can't happen to us anymore. Therefore, we do not know what to do if we are actually surprised by an avalanche. These boards can save your life!
The exhibition titled Mighty Walls, Top Successes of Slovenian Alpinists in the Himalayas shows the extraordinary first routes that put Slovenian Himalayanism on the world throne.
Kronplatz will no longer be famous only for the wild rooster in its image, chocolates in the form of carving skis, egg Bombardines and in general as an excellent Italian ski destination in South Tyrol. The Messner Mountain Museum Corones will soon be there in all its awesomeness.
The History of Slovenian Alpinism is the first book that presents Slovenian alpinism through a historical chronological overview. Interesting reading for mountain lovers and alpinists.
The International Mountain Film Festival aims to bring mountain nature and culture (remote mountains, diverse cultures, adrenaline climbs, mystical nature...) closer to many international visitors. This year it will take place from February 26 to March 4.
