Today, Stellantis announced an ambitious plan called Dare Forward 2030, which, as the name suggests, foresees a large-scale electrification of its range by the end of the decade. It also includes meeting all sorts of financial targets and promising exceptional customer satisfaction, but electricity and carbon neutrality are undoubtedly the heart of this initiative. Stellantis has Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Opel, Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Dodge, Ram...

Regarding the ambitious plan, Stellantis says that by 2030, 100 percent of vehicle sales in Europe will be exclusively battery-powered. In the United States, however, the goal is more restrained. They plan to sell 50 percent of new vehicles there in 2030, which will be exclusively electric. To get there, Stellantis has plans for more than 75 battery electric vehicles (BEVs), with global annual BEV sales of five million units before the end of this decade. Moving further into the future, the company has set itself the goal of being a zero-carbon company by 2038. By 2030, however, the carbon footprint of the entire sales range of the group will be halved.

"Dare Forward 2030 inspires us to become much more than we have ever been," said Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis. "We are expanding our vision, breaking down boundaries and embracing a new mindset that seeks to transform all aspects of mobility for the betterment of our families, communities and societies in which we operate."

The announcement included some announcements of new models. Especially with two brands that are notorious for not being very carbon friendly. The first all-electric Jeep (on the cover of this entry), which is quite similar to the current Compass model. As such, it will be a small crossover that is expected to go into production as early as late 2022, with an on-sale date of 2023. Teaser images of the upcoming Ram 1500 electric truck have not been that detailed, offering a general impression of the exterior design. This is supposed to go on sale in 2024.
