BMW XM: M like we've never seen before

In 1978, the first BMW M model debuted, the legendary BMW M1. At the same time, it was also the first BMW car to have a mid-mounted engine. More than 40 years later, only the second M model (without a number) saw the light of day, the BMW XM concept.

Although they are conceptual BMW XM and the legendary BMW M1 kin, couldn't be more different. The Concept XM rides much higher off the ground, and is powered by V8-cylinder pluggable hybrid, which has just 750 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. The production version will debut as early as 2022, and with a full battery, it will travel almost 50 kilometers a long way. Unfortunately, BMW does not provide any more technical data at the moment, but we can imagine that the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will take place very quickly, certainly in less than 4 seconds.

The design of the concept is difficult to compare with any BMW model we have seen so far. We can't overlook the huge ʺkidneysʺ on a newcomer, which we like more and more. These alone are among the largest we have ever seen from the BMW brand. A big one 23-inch the 14-spoke rims are also one of the largest we've seen on BMW concept models. The rear is highlighted by impressive LED lights, which only end at the rear fenders of the concept. On the rear glass, you can see the BMW logo in the corners, which reminds us of the markings worn by the BMW M1.

The interior of the BMW XM is as unusual as its exterior. The driver's compartment combines retro brown upholstery with copper inserts and carbon fiber inserts. The large curved monitor boasts the latest system iDrive8. The row of seats behind the driver aims for comfort and has enough space for two passengers to lose themselves in the comforts of green and blue velvet. The interior LED lighting can also be seen on the ceiling, which makes the interior look even more futuristic. The BMW XM is just that at the moment concept, and we can expect its production version soon. We can expect more technical specifications, but above all we expect a price that will be above the defense 150,000 euros.
