With an all-glass facade surrounded by a modern steel frame, De Fietskantine it resembles a trendy cafe rather than a cooperative of creative people. Building on Overture number 141 thus unites the cafe under one roof Lot sixty one, bicycle repair shop Bicycle Canteen, hairdresser Bubblekid and office rental BounceSpace. While we are sipping fragrant Italian roasted coffee during a pampering hair treatment, our bike is being "polished" a little more in the repair shop. What could be more beautiful!
The project was created for purely economic reasons, because it is Luuk de Leeuw, the owner of the Bicycle Canteen, realized that it would be more profitable to combine several services under one roof. With this, he and a team of upstarts created a unique space with an authentic industrial retro look, characterized by an apparent mess of tools, a coffee machine, leather armchairs, massive wooden tables, antique bicycles and hairdressing accessories.
