TAG Heuer has combined the powers of the iconic Indianapolis 500 and Formula 1 in a single, solar-powered watch. With a sandblasted steel case, advanced movement and details that pay homage to the famous brick finish line, this is the perfect accessory for fans of petrol fumes and modern technology. This is it - the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph x Indy 500.

TAG Heuer has been the official timekeeper of the Indianapolis 500 since 2004. Last year, after a long break, they also took over the role of official timekeeper of Formula 1. The two biggest flags in the world of motorsport now fly under the same Swiss roof. So it is only logical that their latest model TAG Heuer Formula 1 The Solargraph x Indy 500 – the thirteenth watch to be a result of the Indy 500 partnership – bears the name of one racing series and the identity of another. Ironic? Maybe. But definitely brilliant for all speed lovers.

Bricks from Indianapolis on the Formula 1 skeleton

The 2025 Formula 1 line-up was a major and much-needed leap forward for TAG Heuer’s core range of motorsport watches. The plastic cases that had defined the series for decades were replaced by sandblasted steel, an advanced TH-Polylight composite bezel and a solar-powered movement.

This special edition for the Indy 500 maintains this modern architecture, but swaps the previous pastel colors for something more solemn and serious. The 38-millimeter case features a black bezel with brown markings that are a direct homage to the winged wheel logo of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. At just 10.2 millimeters thick and measuring 42 millimeters from lug to lug, this piece will sit comfortably on almost any wrist without looking oversized or intrusive.

Race day aesthetics

The famous winged wheel logo stands proudly above the six o'clock mark, set against a black surface with a brown inner rim and rhodium-plated indexes. A red lacquered seconds hand cuts across the dial, creating just the right, dynamic contrast that we expect from a true racing watch.

When you turn the watch over, you’ll find an engraved version of the track’s logo on the back of the case in a brick pattern. This is a clear homage to the legendary finish line of the “Yard of Bricks”. The bottom edge clearly communicates exclusivity: the inscription “ONE OF 1110” confirms that this is a strictly limited edition.

Solar quartz worth talking about

For those of you who turn up your nose at anything that isn’t mechanical – stop for a moment. The TH50-00 calibre is a solar quartz movement developed by TAG Heuer in collaboration with the renowned company La Joux-Perret. It’s one of the best light-powered movements in this price range. A single minute of sunlight will give you a full day of operation. Fully charged? The watch will tick accurately for an incredible ten months in complete darkness.

The battery behind this system has an estimated lifespan of 15 years. Add to that the water resistance to 100 meters and the screw-down crown, and the Solargraph becomes a much more capable everyday watch than you might expect. It is an uncompromising tool for precise timekeeping.
