The wine tradition of the Simčič family dates back to 1812. Miro Simčič, the founder of the Medot house, was the driving force behind the development of the entire region during his rich life. For many years, he was the head of the Goriška brda Cooperative Winery, which experienced a real general revival under his leadership.
