Waking up in the middle of the night is something that a large part of the population faces. It causes the most problems for those who can't get back to sleep, as well as to those who wake up several times a night. That's why Tik Tok users were excited when it was dr. Scott Beyer published a trick, which is supposed to prevent night waking.
dr. In his video, Beyer explained that waking up at night is the result malfunction of two hormones: adrenaline and cortisol.
A trick to prevent waking up at night
According to Beyer, the solution first lies in cortisol regulation. This hormone regulates blood sugar, and to a large extent it is also released when we are under stress. When we sleep, our cortisol levels should to increase and only reach its climax in the morning, that is, when we wake up. But when we are under stress, which is the most common cause of sleep problems, cortisol levels it no longer increases. So it happens that another hormone begins to be released instead: adrenaline. And it's supposed to be adrenaline caused, to wake up in the middle of the night.
Beyer therefore suggests unconventional method: you are a few weeks dinner or a snack afford it right before bed and as soon as wake up. In this way, you will encourage normal cortisol function and thus prevent night waking.
