The Toyota Yaris is a long-standing fixture of the B-segment and also one of the best-selling and most desirable models, especially among the fairer sex. The latest generation has recently undergone a cosmetic facelift, giving it a distinctive X-shaped bonnet and a more colorful cabin and better materials inside. The price also surprises, as it is discounted, even among the cheapest in its class.
Designers and engineers are Toyota Yaris intended renovation, in which they paid attention to the shortcomings of the predecessor, although (unfortunately) not everything was noticed or corrected. The renewed model can thus be recognized by the now characteristically designed engine mask, which, in combination with the black color of the body, is even less noticeable. Namely, white, or rather light versions, where it is inside, are much better suited the letter X noticeable and pleasing black part, giving it a front of some kind “bicolor” look. Otherwise, the renovation is really mild - of a cosmetic nature, since there are practically no changes on the side, and on the rear, only the sharpest (hawk's) eyes will notice that the rear lights have a different, more modern graphic.
The Yaris as a whole remains, despite the more dynamic front end faithful to classic elegance, where as a model it offers a slightly higher height and thus a more spacious and airy interior. As a result, visibility is also better, and parking is easier. Inside yaris surprises with colorfulness, where the majority of the dashboard is covered in warm shades of light brown, which undoubtedly enlivens the interior. Also plastic it's tactile softer and better quality, and the contrast stitching on the steering wheel and seats round off the whole thing nicely. The front seats do not "brilliant" in terms of lateral grip, but otherwise they are completely correct and generously adjustable. The same cannot be said for the steering wheel, which is adjustable in all directions, but offers insufficient depth adjustment. The center armrest is equally cut off, too narrow and too close to the driver's torso, which diminishes its usefulness.
Otherwise, the passenger cabin is spacious, even in the second row you can breathe, just don't sit there for too long, to avoid irritation. However, as mentioned before, there is more headroom than the class average, but it is somewhere in the middle trunk with basic 286 liters. The number only moves to the positive side when we include in the equation the fact that it still measures less than four meters in length. Regarding equipment Toyota yaris s lounge packages it offers everything you need and also brings some treats. Despite the standard dual-zone climate control, cruise control, reversing camera and large infotainment screen, it still falls short of the title of "prestigious". We are missed above all LEDs on the nose and parking aids on the back, the more petty will also be annoyed by the fact that it still does not have the comfortable three-time blink of the turn signals, and impulse opening is still reserved only for the driver's window. However, it is still placed among the more prestigious by the aforementioned "sweets" in shape comfortable access and startup vehicles, lighted vanity mirrors (which are the exception rather than the rule in this segment) and large infotainment screen.
It was spinning in the tester's nose the famous 1.33 liter petrol engine, which develops concrete 73 kW, which must be turned into (high) revolutions. Below the limit of 3,500 revolutions, the engine is a bit underpowered, but it does not defend the revolutions, although the higher we go, the sound increases rapidly, and the same applies to consumption. This is what we intended in the test 6.6 liters, although with slightly more dynamic driving, the average also moved beyond the limit of seven liters, to a very high 7.2 liters. Because of this, I would need a start&stop system even more, which was not included in the equipment, surprisingly gearbox with six gears relations. This actually reduces consumption and noise in the cabin, especially when driving with AC, when comfort is significantly higher than it would otherwise be. The performance is suitable for the motorization and the previously mentioned engine specifications, but the chassis proved to be quite stiff and at times less comfortable.
A look at the price list reveals another Yaris feature, namely the price. 13.510-, or the tester's 14,350 euros. At this price, they offer you concrete ones 1,500 euro discount, so the price of the test model was for the segment a below-average 12,850 euros. Considering the reputation of the model and the brand, the yaris still means a good and proven purchase. You shouldn't just be swayed by the latest automotive trends.
