Research claims that men who wear such clothes are prone to cheating

We all know that you should never judge a book by its cover, but unfortunately that's not always the case. Humans are constantly judged by our appearance, including the clothes and accessories we wear. One study thus showed that wearing one piece of clothing can give the impression that men who wear it are prone to cheating, even if they have never (yet) cheated on their partner.

To men who wear extravagant fashion brands with large luxury logos, women trust less, she showed study University of Michigan.

Namely, the research tried to discover how women experience men's clothing. One of the researchers, Dr. Daniel Kruger, a psychologist at the University of Michigan, had 376 participants, who judged men wearing polo shirts Ralph Lauren with large or small logo. They were evaluated according to the following factors: "frequent flirtation", "conscious conquest of a foreign partner", "good care of children" and "they spend most of their resources on supporting the family".

Participants believed that men wearing large luxury logos were more promiscuous and more likely to cheat. In fact, according to the survey, these men were rated with "lower interest in a long-term romantic relationship" and "greater interest in making friends with benefits". They are also considered less reliable when or if they become parents. Kruger originally hypothesized that luxury logos would be more attractive to women because they might be seen as a sign of wealth and power, two traits important for reproduction and family building. However, Kruger actually found that women see men who wear these types of t-shirts and sweatshirts as people who are more invested in sexuality than in parenting.

Smaller luxury logos are supposed to make men more reliable

The study focused on the Ralph Lauren brand and its famous polo shirts with the iconic mini logo and t-shirts with a larger version of the logo. Kruger thus asked participants in a male study whether they would prefer to wear large or small logos in a series of different scenarios. Respondents said they were more likely to wear T-shirts with a smaller logo when attending a job interview for the first time or meeting their partner's parents. But in situations where they will establish social dominance – such as leading a team or attracting a potential partner – are more likely to wear t-shirts with a large logo.

The women who participated in the study were not surprised by the results and agreed.
