Because the new safety regulations were apparently written by SUV enthusiasts who want to make sure all cars are ready to collide with their giant steel steeds. And while that's great news for safety, Tesla went one step further. According to Tesla representatives, the door now produces a more satisfying 'boom' when it closes, giving the feeling of sitting in a higher class vehicle. Because, you know, true luxury is heard in the details!

By choosing the 19-inch "Nova" wheels, it will Model 3 rear-wheel drive drives incredible 513 km (319 miles) on a single charge according to the WLTP standard. Meanwhile, the Long Range (LR) version offers just 629 km (391 miles) of autonomy. Despite all these improvements, the performance numbers remain unchanged: the rear-wheel-drive Model 3 hits 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive LR version rockets there in a scant 4.4 seconds.

The interior of the Model 3 now functions more like a saloon. It boasts a shape that surrounds the occupants, with an "inclusive architecture" that combines aluminum and fabrics. New ambient lighting covers the entire cabin.

The digital space inside is like a real estate bonanza in Silicon Valley. The 15.4-inch central screen has remained the same size, but with narrower bezels, allowing more space for your digital adventures. They also added a new 8.0-inch screen at the rear with integrated climate, ventilation and infotainment controls. Tesla has replaced the column-mounted paddle shifters with steering-wheel controls like its more expensive siblings, the Model S and Model X.

Owners of the LR version will now enjoy music from kar 17 speakers, which is three more than before, with two subwoofers and two amplifiers. Who needs a concert hall? Similar to Model S and Model X the new Model 3 has no levers. Instead, the vehicle is controlled through its infotainment system. The steering wheel has capacitive buttons, although it will probably be less controversial than Model S and Model X's yoke, as his horn is in the middle.
