Did you notice? Is the Big Mac different? McDonald's has refreshed its most recognizable burgers. By improving the preparation procedures, they achieved that the legendary Big Mac, McChicken, Double Cheeseburger and others are now even tastier, juicier, softer... Although the basics of the recipe have not changed, as many as 80 % guests noticed the difference.
The secret of excellent cuisine is to pay attention to the smallest details. The cooking or baking time must be precisely determined, the temperature must be optimal at all times, and the ingredients must be fresh and of high quality. "We also went back to the details and carefully studied the preparation of our legendary burgers. We introduced as many as 16 changes in the kitchen, which the guests will not notice, but you can taste them," said Denis Potočnik, marketing manager at McDonald's Slovenia, summarizing the essence of the project to refresh McDonald's classic burgers.
Preserved the original recipes, improved the preparation procedures
“Each grill can now only cook 6 steaks at a time. Onions are added to the steaks while they are still cooking, so that the aromas of the meat and onions blend nicely. The temperature of the grill does not fall below the prescribed level even for a moment. The loaves are also new, without artificial preservatives, flavor enhancers or dyes. The secret of their softness is hidden in the carefully thought-out recipe and the fact that they are fried to a golden brown color only according to your order, each one on the fly," Denis Potočnik summarized the most important innovations and added that in fact only the Big Mac underwent a minimal change in the recipe, because it now has a little more of the original sauce, which gives it a distinctive taste.
Slovenia is among the first in Europe
Refreshing the iconic burgers is a global McDonald's project and one of the biggest organizational and financial stakes in recent years. "The project was extremely demanding, as it meant a thorough renovation of the kitchens and the introduction of new food preparation processes, about which we had to educate our employees. Now that the project has been completed, I can say that we are very proud to be among the first European countries to serve guests their favorite burger in a new, even better version," said Denis Potočnik.
As many as 80 % guests noticed the better taste
At McDonald's Slovenia, they started refreshing the classics gradually. In the two restaurants where the new procedures were first introduced, they checked whether the changes were noticed by the guests as well. "The survey results were excellent. As much as 80 percent of guests recognized the improvements. They said that they now think the meat is juicier, the bread softer, that the burgers are generally tastier and so on," enthusiastically explains Denis Potočnik from McDonald's Slovenia, adding: "Taste is, of course, a matter of subjective perception, so I invite all burger lovers, to see for themselves."
