Everyone who has at least as much of a sweet tooth as we do knows that fall and the approaching holidays mean only one thing - loads of sweet apple pies, wraps, caramel apples and other sweets that are so welcome in the colder days. 1. Let's try to understand our desires

Our body often "demands" sweets when we lack a certain nutrient. In such moments, instead of candies, we reach for our favorite fruit, but we can also treat ourselves to sweet potatoes, which have a very low glycemic index.

2. Let's take a walk

Sometimes eating sweets becomes a habit that is hard to break. If we are used to eating a bar of chocolate at a certain time every day, let's start walking at that time. After a ten-minute walk in the fresh air, we will probably forget about the chocolate, but if the desire is still there, follow step number one or three.

3. Let's chew gum/brush our teeth

Chewing gummy bears reduces cravings for sweets (and other foods). It's even better if the chigumi has a menthol flavor, as it also reduces sugar cravings. If we are at home, brush our teeth with menthol toothpaste.

4. Here and there we give in to desire

If we treat ourselves to something sweet now and then, it won't be the end of the world. Nevertheless, let us be careful not to sin too often. If you want ice cream, choose frozen yogurt and cover it with fresh fruit, and instead of sweet tea, choose green tea and sweeten it with a teaspoon of organic honey.

5. Give up sugar completely and let others know about it

If nothing else helps us (after the first four steps we still feel an immense need for sweets), we give up sugar completely and let others know about it. The first few days will be extremely difficult, but after about three, the worst cravings for sweets will fade. Some people just aren't half-assed and have to give up certain things completely. We also inform the people around us about stopping the consumption of sweets, as this will make it harder to break the commitment.
