The first serious challenger to Europe from the Far East

The Denza Z is like a meteor coming from the Far East to disrupt the peaceful evenings in Stuttgart, Modena and Zuffenhausen. And believe me, the guys at Porsche are already very nervous...

Denza Z, the newly launched electric supercar from BYD under its premium sub-brand Denza, is more than just another “sprinter” with Asian origins. It is a manifestation of Chinese technological pride that can no longer be ignored.

First, a bit about the numbers to put things in perspective: The Denza Z is said to use three electric motors that together develop more than 700 kW (which is approximately 950 horsepower). This is enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and top speed around 240 km/h (149 mph).

But the numbers are just the beginning of the story. Platform is BYD's most advanced design, designed exclusively for supercar electric cars. The Denza Z uses a system DiSus-M – BYD's most advanced active suspension system, which uses magnetorheological dampers in 10 milliseconds adjusts the stiffness of the chassis. In practice, this means that you can comfortably transport your mother to the market with the Denzo Z, and then overtake Ferraris on the runway the same afternoon.

A leap into the future in the interior

The interior is the future itself: a large curved screen in front of the driver, a gigantic central infotainment system and – a futuristic “party trick” – foldable steering wheel, which you simply stow under the dashboard when you turn on autonomous driving. Yes, you read that right. And yes, the Tesla Cybertruck now looks like an amateur project.

In addition, the Denza Z uses steer-by-wire system, which means that the steering wheel and the wheels are not physically connected – everything is done electronically. If that sounds scary, let me reassure you: the advantage is incredible precision and the ability to fully customize the feel of the steering wheel according to your driving style.

Huge battery, for lots of fun

As for the battery – specific data has not yet been officially disclosed, but based on BYD's Blade technology and the current standard, we expect a capacity of around 100 kWh, which should provide a reach of more than 600 km (373 miles) according to WLTP standard. DC charging? Don't panic - the Denza Z will support ultra-fast charging at speeds over 200 kW.

The design is also worth mentioning: low, wide, with a sporty pointed nose, sharp LED headlights and flowing lines that scream “speed”. And be careful – this is not just another Chinese “copycat”. The Denza Z has its own face. Perhaps even more confident than any current Porsche…

Conclusion: 911 should fear competition

If until now the thought of a Chinese supercar was more of a topic for jokes among automotive journalists, now the situation is serious. Denza Z He is a thoroughbred athlete who has everything to compete with the best – no bad excuses, no "ampaks".

What about the price? So far, there is speculation about a figure around 100,000 eurosIf true, the Denza Z will be the cheapest car in the segment with almost 1,000 horsepower, an ultra-luxury cabin, and technology that would make even the manufacturers in Stuttgart jealous.

Truth? The Denza Z won't just be an alternative - it could become a "game changer", a car that will make even the biggest skeptics admit: the future of speed is no longer just in Italy and Germany.
