Allow yourself to feel. To feel. To live. To love.
Humans have emotions whether we like it or not. We feel it. Let's feel it. Regardless of the fact that sometimes we want to suppress our emotions in every possible way.
When you ignore your feelings, you ignore your heart.
You suppressed your feelings and realized that they don't want to go away.
1. You will realize that you will regret things whether you like it or not
Now you may think you are doing the right thing by suppressing your emotions, but you have emotions to feel. You should be with them even if they are uncomfortable. We should analyze them and learn to accept them. Running away from them may work for a while, but all the emotions will eventually catch up with you and sooner or later you will have to deal with them. It is better to learn how to be emotionally mature than to run away at the first sign of emotion. Feelings that you might be feeling something.
2. You'll find that it hurts just as much to pretend you don't feel anything
You may feel that you are saving yourself some trouble by pretending to be heartless and acting as if nothing is hurting you. You isolate yourself. You don't give anyone a chance to hurt you, you only hurt yourself. But you still go through the pain. And you are causing yourself the exact pain you were trying to prevent.
3. You will realize that there is nothing wrong with being vulnerable
Knowing how to express your vulnerability is a strength. You shouldn't feel uncomfortable talking through your feelings, admitting what you're thinking or feeling. You are only human. You have feelings. Whether you express those feelings or not. They are important.
4. You will realize that it is not ok to pretend that you are fine
You are doing yourself a disservice by lying about your feelings. Lying about being okay means settling for less than you deserve. It means not talking about what you expect. Remember that there is nothing wrong with wanting a beautiful future. It's not selfish to have high expectations. You are allowed to talk about how you feel.
5. You will realize that your partner will not magically change how you feel
They will give you a safe place to express yourself. They will encourage you to open up and support you when you are down. But they can't magically make you feel good about doing something you don't feel good about. It depends only on you. You have to make that effort yourself. You have to decide that you are ready.
6. You know it's never easy to open your heart to someone
Even if you have a habit of being more open about your feelings, it won't always be easy. But it will be worth the effort. The risk will be worth the reward. It's not necessary for everyone to know how you feel, just let that person know. Let them down to your heart. You'll be surprised at how refreshing it feels.
