The Mercedes-AMG One is still among us, and it brings everything that Mercedes promised it would bring. Its essence is an engine from Formula 1, it is road legal, and its hybrid drive system has as much as 1,064 horsepower.

The heart of the latest road monster Mercedes-AMG One represents the engine. And this one comes from Formula 1 competition, and it caused the engineers a lot of headaches to get it ready for use in everyday traffic. 1.6-liter V6 the engine revs up to 11.000 revolutions per minute, with the help of a turbine charger driven by an electric motor. It has the engine itself 574 horsepower (422 kW) and even meets the emission standard Euro 6.

The incredibly powerful engine is only one half of the drivetrain. The other half consists of four electric motors, which ensure that the Mercedes-AMG One has four-wheel drive and that's all 782 kW powers. Two electric motors are located in front, and together they contribute something beyond 320 horsepower. The third electric motor is installed together with the internal combustion engine and contributes additional 120 kW powers. The fourth electric motor is in charge of the turbocharger, which also contributes 90 kW powers. The latter also takes care of redirecting the energy when the exhaust from the classic engine drives the turbine charger.

As a plug-in hybrid, the Mercedes-AMG has a smaller battery. The battery capacity is 8.4 kWh, and for its maximum efficiency it is important that it maintains an optimal temperature at 45˚C. They can be transported up to only with the energy stored in the battery 18 kilometers a long way, and its weight is 1,695 kilograms. To accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h is only necessary 2.9 seconds, acceleration to 200 km/h but ends after just 7 seconds. The top speed achieved by the One is 350 km/h.

Similarities from the world of Formula 1 were also transferred to the interior of the electrified athlete at Mercedes. The seats are snug, and the driver sits behind the wheel with his legs stretched out. The driver controls the car with an angular steering wheel, and information is transmitted to him via two 10-inch screens. As it is a road vehicle after all, the Mercedes-AMG One has an air conditioning system, a sound system, electric windows and a camera instead of a rearview mirror. They will only be made 275 specimens of the prestigious Mercedes-AMG One, each will cost more than 2 million euros, and everyone is at this moment as well already sold.
