Ingredients

    Ingredients for brownies:
  • 200 g of dark chocolate
  • 150 g of butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 100 g of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • Ingredients for caramel sauce:
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 60 ml of sweet cream
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Heat the oven to 180°C. Line a brownie pan (approx. 20 x 20 cm) with baking paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter over a water bath or in the microwave.
  3. Beat the eggs and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the melted chocolate and butter to the egg mixture and mix until all the ingredients are combined.
  5. Sift the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt into the mixture and mix to form a smooth dough.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes, until the edges start to pull away from the pan and the center is still soft.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare the caramel sauce. Pour the sugar into the pan and heat over medium heat until the sugar melts and turns golden brown. Meanwhile, stir constantly.
  8. When the sugar has melted, add the butter and sweet cream and a pinch of salt. Mix until all the ingredients are combined and you have a smooth sauce.
  9. Once the brownies are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan.
  10. Spread the caramel sauce over the top before serving.
