Spring Restaurant Week 2023 will be from March 24 to April 2! But for many of TR's unexpected guests, the start will be as early as March 13, when the restaurants will start accepting reservations. The participation will again be excellent and varied.
Restaurant Week 2023 will present 108 Slovenian restaurants and inns this spring, including 7 new ones. The specialty of this year's influx of restaurants participating in TR for the first time is the quality, which clearly shows the progress of Slovenian cuisine: among the new ones there are as many as four restaurants with three hearts, one with two and two with one. Two restaurants with a Michelin star also participate in the Spring Restaurant Week: Restaurant Strelec and Linhart House.
The best Slovenian restaurants and chefs participate in the Slovenian Restaurant Week, which promotes top Slovenian cuisine. Twice a year - in spring and autumn - during the ten days of the tastiest week of the year, they present their knowledge in three courses at a reasonable price. With this, Slovenian restaurateurs reward their regular guests for their loyalty and invite new ones to learn about superb cuisine, which is not always expensive.
Spring Restaurant Week 2023
On Monday, March 13, the participating restaurants will be on the official website (week of restaurants.si or vivi.si) revealed special menus at a price of 23, 25 and 28 euros, with which they will present their culinary stories, which in 2023 are characterized by leftovers. The menus will be so tasty that there will be less waste, leftovers and wasted food!
In 2023, the official sparkling wine of Restaurant Week is the oldest Slovenian sparkling wine, Zlata penina from Radgonski Gorice, which celebrated its 170th anniversary last year at Restaurant Week. STO, the Slovenian Tourism Organization, and CANA Royal Water, the official water of Restaurant Week 2023, have been partners of Restaurant Week for many years.
Menu price for Restaurant Week 2023
The price of the menu in 2023 is based on the year, so it is 23 euros. Better rated restaurants can claim a quality surcharge on top of this price. With a quality surcharge (€2 for 2 hearts, €5 for 3 hearts and more), Restaurant Week highlights the importance of quality, evaluation and hearts, as well as:
• encourages visiting restaurants with one heart (and a Smile score);
• relieves congestion when making reservations at the most desirable restaurants;
• eliminates the leveling of restaurant prices;
• enables a better comparison between the quality of menus in participating restaurants
Only the best-rated restaurants and taverns, selected by a culinary critic, can participate in the Restaurant Week Uros Mencinger and a search engine for the best Slovenian inns and restaurants A selection of vivi.si flavors. The criteria of quality are hearts and the evaluation methodology, which is published on vivi.si.
Is Restaurant Week only a Slovenian campaign?
The first Restaurant Week was organized in New York in 1992, and since then the campaign has spread all over the world. The essence of the campaign is the offer of special menus everywhere at a lower price than usual. In different cities and countries, the duration of Restaurant Week varies, and the prices of special menus also vary. Slovenian Restaurant Week was organized for the first time in 2012, as part of the European Capital of Culture. In 2013, the campaign became nationwide and traditional.
Is Restaurant Week also intended for foreign guests?
All guests who like to eat well, from Slovenia and the whole world, are welcome at the Restaurant Week. That is why the official website of Restaurant Week, through which guests choose restaurants and make reservations, is bilingual, in Slovenian and English.

All information about all participating restaurants, with menus and information on reservations, is published on the official Restaurant Week website. Restaurants that accept reservations by phone must be called on the phone number listed in the reservation information. Restaurants that accept reservations via e-mail can be booked directly by clicking the RESERVE button on the restaurant's subpage. The reservation is valid when the restaurant confirms the reservation by email. On the website of each participating restaurant, information about still available places is also published.
